Pellets, the fuel of the future

Pellets are made of pure, compressed sawdust and wood shavings (without chemical binders). They are characterised by a high energy content, excellent calorific value and of course their environmental friendliness. Their ash can be used as a valuable garden fertilizer.

The advantages of pellets are:

  • Indigenous and renewable product

  • CO2-neutral

  • Clean and easy to handle

  • Convenient delivery by truck

  • Unaffected by international/political crises

The first developments in wood pellet combustion took place in the early eighties, triggered by the worldwide oil crisis, when there was a heightened interest in alternative energy sources. In the USA the pellet oven was developed, and in Sweden heating systems for large capacities were implemented. But it is in the field of heating systems for small capacities such as household and commercial applications that the Austrian producers play an international leadership role. Austrian pellet heating systems are exported to countries across Europe as well as to the USA and Japan.

Pellets, the world's most natural fuel!

Wood pellets are small compressed cylinders of natural dry wood shavings and sawdust. They are formed under very high pressure and their water content is very low. So these small "drops of energy" only need a small storage volume - a ton of pellets needs only a space of 1.5 m³.

Wood, a natural and renewable fuel, is the ideal solution for safe, sustainable heating. Using sunlight, trees produce the oxygen that is essential for life. The CO2 emissions from burning wood are comparable with those from natural decomposition in the forest. Wood heating helps to preserve the fragile balance of the carbon cycle.

Quality is crucial!

Specification for pellet quality:

Use only pellets supplied by producers who guarantee conformity to the Austrian Standard Ö-NORM or to DIN norms!

Good reasons

1. Pellets are an indigenous, renewable, natural product and will be available - in contrast to oil, gas and uranium - for future generations.

2. With pellets you are independent of international crises and global developments.

3. Pellets have a high calorific value and CO2 neutral combustion. By using pellet heating you reduce your emission of greenhouse gases, better protecting the environment and the earth's atmosphere.

4. Pellets are clean and easy to handle. They are available in handy bags or can be delivered by lorry.

5. Pellets need only half the space required by conventional firewood or logs. Neither the transport nor the storage of pellets endangers the environment

6. The purchase of pellets ensures that the added value remains in your country, this strengthens the economy and creates new jobs.

7. No trees are cut down in the production of our pellets, only sawdust and waste wood from timber processing are used.
